Reverse osmosis systems
Reverse osmosis (RO) systems are used to produce desalinated water without the use of chemicals. The systems remove up to 90% of organic substances and retain 98-99% of the dissolved salts in the water.
High-quality plant engineering
made in Germany
All of our high-quality systems are developed, designed, built, and tested in-house.
Karl Spiegl GmbH draws on many years of experience and selected high-quality components, thus ensuring the high quality of its systems in line with the highest industry standards.

Custom-made stainless steel pressure pipes
The stainless steel pressure pipes are manufactured in-house and are particularly user-friendly in terms of installation and operation. This ensures a long service life and consistent quality with reliable tightness.

2
User-friendly controls
Each RO unit is monitored by a control system. The control systems are either designed and built individually by us as PLCs, or we use our own in-house microprocessor control systems.

Efficient
pumps
Standard RO units are equipped with energy-efficient high-pressure pumps or positive displacement pumps. On request, we can supply all pumps with frequency converters to minimize energy consumption. Our high-pressure pumps are made of stainless steel to prevent corrosion.

Robust
pipe system
The reverse osmosis system has a robust, welded stainless steel pipe system that can withstand high water pressure. The low-pressure piping is made of PVC, PP, or PE.

Low-energy
membranes
The membranes are carefully selected and individually designed to ensure our customers receive the best solution in terms of both operating costs and water quality.
Reverse osmosis systems
Our product range includes prefabricated standard systems with a flow rate of up to 60 m³/h. All systems are developed and manufactured in our own factory in Germany. We offer single-stage and two-stage reverse osmosis systems, concentrate RO, and compact RO.

We manufacture stainless steel pressure pipes in-house.
Avoid residues with 100% silicone-free reverse osmosis systems, which are particularly suitable for automotive or paint shops.

Patent of the Spiegl company
Sensor-controlled water softening systems
Spiegl water softeners are equipped with a sensor to detect when the resin bed is exhausted. This feature is unique and patented by Spiegl.
Sensor-controlled water softeners only regenerate when the bottle is actually exhausted. In contrast, water meter-controlled systems regenerate according to a calculated value and not according to the state of exhaustion. After regeneration, the user-friendly touch panel can be used to check whether the regeneration was successful. In the event of an error, a message is displayed immediately, giving you time to react. In the event of an operational malfunction, e.g., salt shortage or low pressure during regeneration, we detect faulty regeneration or hard water breakthrough and protect sensitive technology such as reverse osmosis or boilers with an alarm.
The commissioning of a sensor-controlled system is more user-friendly, as no extensive capacities need to be calculated and safety is guaranteed. This means that the system can be put into operation easily and without complications.
Reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration
Reverse osmosis
Reverse osmosis is typically used for water desalination, as this treatment method covers the widest range of applications, as shown in the diagram. Nanofiltration, on the other hand, is used to remove undesirable substances either completely or partially.
Ultrafiltration
Ultrafiltration is a special filtration process. This process can even be used to separate and concentrate macromolecular substances and extremely small particles from water.
Nanofiltration
Compared to reverse osmosis, nanofiltration requires lower water pressure, typically below 7 bar, which means lower energy consumption compared to a reverse osmosis system with the same throughput capacity.
Do you need advice?
The optimal solution depends on the application, the required water quality and the water consumption. Our team of specialists will be happy to answer your questions about solutions for your water treatment solution.
